Tuesday Tipz

When Rubber Stamp Sets Go Bad!

A loyal reader recently had a problem with
the 'lines' left over after stamping an image.
(The area around the rubber stamped image that
happens when the stamp is 'rocked'.)
If this has happened on a project that
can't be changed, then use this opportunity to doodle
around the image, or add another embellishment.
Incorporate the lines into the image.

One way to prevent this, is to stamp the image onto
another piece of paper, then adhere that to your project.
This is especially useful for word or sentiment stamp sets.

Monday Make-Itz

Let's make a photo album small enough to
carry in a purse or tote bag.
These can be used to 'brag' about anyone or
anything close to your heart, even a special pet.
Since I'm a new 'Oma'(German for Grandmommy),
I needed a way to show off my babies!

This started as a plain chipboard book covered with paper and sealed with modge podge.
Inside of book, picture inserts are about 3x4inches.

This shows the size of the book, the one behind holds 4x6 pictures.

Another picture to show size of book.

I made this flip book for a new grandmommy friend. It was a kit, but could easily be made with chipboard and clips.

For a quick and easy book, pick up an inexpensive 4x6 photo album at the big box or dollar stores.
The front of the book can easily be changed, just replace with pattern paper. The inside pages can also be decorated with cardstock, stickers and pattern paper.

Thursday Treatz

Sugar Sandwiches!

My sister and I were talking about childhood memories.
One that stood out was a snack we would make after
a day of swimming and playing outside.
Fifty years ago sugar, butter and white bread were dietary issues.
I'm sure this was invented by our stay at home mom to
feed a family of four kids on one income!

It's a very easy recipe:
White Bread

Spread butter onto bread, sprinkle with sugar. ENJOY!
(Even after all of these years, it's still a treat!)

Tuesday Tipz

Cut and score a stack of colored
and white card stock.
When inspiration strikes, the card stock
is ready to be stamped and embellished!
Very handy when making multiple cards
