Monday Make-Itz

When our home was full of growing children,
we used to go through a box of cereal and a gallon of milk a day.
Needless to say, we ended up with many empty boxes and milk jugs.

The milk jugs were cleaned, dried and hung up in the garage to make Christmas luminaries.
The oldest would line the driveway and sidewalk with the glistening lights.
All the jugs were recycled after the holidays.

The cereal boxes were used for many organizing and craft projects.
The cardboard was strong, but easy to cut.

The September 2013 Family Fun Magazine has some great ideas for
using cereal boxes. Three of the ideas include: post cards, magazine holders
along with drawer organizers.

  1. those are neat ideas for using cereal boxes. saw a tv commercial with the CHEER part of the cheerios made into a post card. sadly, i don't buy cereal so no boxes to play with!

  2. Idea--ask someone who enjoys cereal to save the boxes for you!
