Black Pop Dots

Wow, I found an awesome 'new' product: BLACK POP DOTS.
These are great when you want the pop dot to 'fade' into a project with dark colors.
Sometimes the white pop dots show through.

Another tip--run a black felt marker around the edge of a paper cut out to 'hide' the white edge.

Tile Coasters and Trivets

October's make-it at Home Depot was coasters made from tiles.
We spray painted an undercoat,
then brushed on a crackle finish paint, added initials and sealed.
An easier way to make tile coasters is with scrapbook/craft paper and sealant.

Blue tiles are painted, white tiles not painted.

Materials:

Tiles from home improvement store
Sealant
Craft paper
felt pads

Choose tiles from home store.

Use eye glass wipe or rubbing alcohol to clean tile.

Die cut from craft paper, freehand a design, or cut a square.

Brush sealant onto tile, press paper onto tile. Make sure all air bubbles are pushed out.

 Tips:
Make sure tile is clean.
Use good quality craft paper. (Construction paper will smear and colors will run.)
Add a few coats of sealant, letting dry between coats.
Add felt pads or stick on cork to bottom to protect furniture.
Make a sets for gifts!

HAND CRAFTED CARDS

With just a few simple supplies,
you can make a hand crafted card faster than you can get into your vehicle, drive to the big box or card store, stare at the card displays and try to pick the perfect one.

Never underestimate the power of a handmade card,
or any card for that matter. I recently sent one to a friend who
had suffered a loss, she said it come on the perfect day--she
needed to know that someone cared.

DIE CUT PUMPKINS

Greetingz Crafterz!
I'm back from a week long bus trip to Savannah, Georgia.
Had a great time with 46 other 'Young At Heart' citizens. (Pretty sure I was the youngest!)
Can you believe it is almost Halloween? I was in the big box store,
   one aisle had Halloween,
   the next  had Thanksgiving,
and next to that was Christmas. So let me be the first to wish you
   HAPPY HALLOW-THANKS-MAS.

Keeping with a fall theme, let's make a pumpkin out of a die cut!

   DIE CUT PUMPKIN

   Materials:
   Die cuts
   Punches
   Papers
   Markers
any kind of ribbon or string for the 'tendrils'

Look through your die cuts and see what one reminds you of a pumpkin.
I tried a few round ones, but I liked the Top Note die the best.
I first used sparkly and orange paper, then I tried patterned paper.

Die cut chosen paper.

Outline with markers. Attach to card front.

Punch or cut free hand  leaves. Outline with markers.
Add ribbon or paper stem, along with ribbon tendrils. Pop dot leaves.

Stamp or write a greeting on the inside of the card. Happy Fall Y'all!

World Card Making Day

WORLD CARD MAKING DAY
SATURDAY OCT. 4, 2014

History:

"World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine to bring card makers together at the beginning of the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, the holiday became known as World Card Making Day from then on.

Celebrating its ninth year in 2014, World Card Making Day is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in October. It's a day for the card-making communityhobbyists, retailers, and manufacturersto unite and celebrate the connection and creativity that is the heart of card making. Join us in the fun on October 4, for World Card Making Day 2014!"

Make a card--be it simple or complex, mail or hand deliver to someone special!
