Thursday Treatz on Friday Freebeez

HERB's ChickenNoodleDumplingSoup

Here is super simple soup for super busy days.
My dad  Herb came up with this idea quite a few years ago.
He would be pleased I'm sharing it with all.
Put this in the crock pot before your last minute shopping trip,
add a salad, crackers and a quick meal is all set.

1 can of favorite brand chicken noodle soup
1 can of favorite brand chicken and dumplings
Mix together and place in pan or crock pot--DO NOT DILUTE.

(Feeds 2-3, add more cans of each as needed)

Add a small amount of water if the mixture is too thick.

HINT--tastes great with pimento cheese on crackers or bread

Monday Make Itz and Tuesday Tipz

Save the boxes from making Chex Mix and Puppy Chow,or any cereal box.
Cut the fold over top closure from the box.
Cover with wrapping paper, scrapbook paper, or spray paint.
(Wrap like a gift, then put extra paper down into the box.)
Punch holes on each side and add ribbon for handles
Fill with tissue paper or shredded color paper.

use any size or type of cereal box to make gift bags
These were made from die cut paper, but almost the same idea as cereal box bags.

I place the gift tag on the 'bag' handle so it can be easily removed.
When I give the gift, I explain that the bag can be 'regifted' to use for another gift!

Thursday Treatz

No Bake Brownies

(Mom's recipe, one of my fav's.
She would make this early in the season and store in the fridge.)
(cut into small pieces to serve to avoid a chocolate coma!)

3 cups vanilla wafer crumbs(make your own, or buy pre-made)
1 cup powered sugar
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts (pecans work well in this)
1/2 teaspoon salt
12 oz. Choc. chips
1 cup EVAPORATED milk(in can)
1 teaspoon vanilla

1. Melt the choc. chips with the milk, add vanilla.Save 1 cup of this mixture for the icing.

2. Mix the remainder of the choc. mixture with the well blended dry ingredients.

3. This mixture will be kind of dry and hard to work with, use gloves or
grease well washed hands to finish mixing.

4. Pat mixture into a large greased or buttered cake or brownie pan,
or use parchment paper or release aluminum foil.

5. Ice with reserved choc. mixture.

6. Refrigerate

6. Cut into small squares to serve.

Tuesday Tipz

If it is difficult to add the greeting on a straight line,
place or write it on an angle. This will also add interest to the card.
