KISS--Keep It Simple Santa

When we started our family, we had a one-salary budget.
I started a Christmas Club Account to stay within our means,
and shopped throughout the year, especially the after Holiday Sales.
We also made special gifts for friends and family.
We left the 'spoiling' to the grandparents!
(Blessed to say I'm the grandparent now!)

A recent article in the local paper about a
gift giving challenge that is making its way
around social media:

4 Gift Challenge:
--Something they want
--Something they need
--Something to wear
--Something to read

While just four gifts may be difficult to adhere to,
even cutting back just a bit this year may make all the difference!

Turkey Day Printables

Here is another resource for free printables,
these are from Elmer's--the glue company! Click below.

Fun trivia--- The Rubbermaid/Newel company owns Elmer's glues, along with other
craft type products like Sharpie Pens. I found out that all the ink for every Sharpie in the
world is made in a factory that I pass by on my way to my house. That is incredible!

Click on above link to read great ideas from
Ms. Cheap. I have been following her column
in the Tennessean newspaper for years, even
when I didn't live in Tennessee.
Even though many of her ideas/tips/freebies are
local, she also has ideas that work for anyone/anywhere.

Tuesday Tipz

Be Sure to Date it!
(a repeat, but good to remember)

Just a gentle reminder to date a product when you bring it home,
and/or when you open it. I use a fine tip sharpie pen.
This will help you to remember the age of your supplies,
since some craft products such as glue and adhesives
do not have a forever shelf life.
It is also good to date ink and ink pads,
especially after opened.
And, if you are like me--can't remember what I
had for dinner last night, much less when I purchased
something, this is a must-do!
Happy Craftin'!

Salute to our Vets!

Walmart came up with the green light campaign to
show support for our Military men and women.
The idea was to replace an outside white bulb
with a green bulb.
With many vets in the family, we
tried to locate a green Walmart bulb.
The program must be very popular since we were
not able to find one.
However, we did find a string of green LED lights
in the Hallo-Thanks-Mass area.
Resident Veteran used the string of lights
to make this salute:
He taped wires together to form the star,
then added the string of lights.

Green Star Salute

All aglow!

 Handprint Turkeys!

Image result for handprint turkey clipart
Different types of paper, yarn, coloring utensils, glue.
Gather other craft supplies to 'dress' up the Turkey!

Gather the kids and adults around the Turkey Day craft table
to make a handprint turkey.
Draw around the hand, then color in, or use
different types of craft paper and glue the different parts
of the turkey--make a fun turkey feather fan.

Cut out and make a turkey garland, or attach to chipboard
and hang up around the feast!

Save from year to year to see how the kids have grown!
