Tuesday Tipz

If you have a yarn pattern
that requires multiple colors of yarn,
use your kitchen colander--thread the different
colors through the holes, place the balls of yarn
in the bowl of the colander.
Need yours to cook with? Check
the resale and dollar stores for an extra one.

Here is Grandson Garrett modeling one of the hats I made for his mom. Not sure she will get it back!

Monday Make Itz

Messy bun hats are all the rage.
These are beanies that have a hole
in the top--put your long hair in a ponytail
and pull it through the hole.
There are many patterns online for
crochet/knit newbies.

Redheart yarn website has many to

choose from. Start with a simple hat first.

I start with one or two elastic pony tail holders to make the
bun opening  more flexible.

Thursday Treatz

My daughter Katie fixed this yummy meal for us.
She even had home baked bread!

You will need a box of penne noodles, a jar of alfredo sauce, a jar of pasta sauce, a can of diced tomatoes seasoned with oregano, basil and Italian seasoning, mozzarella cheese and a pound of hamburger.

-brown your hamburger and cook penne noodles
-add tomatoes and pasta sauce to browned meat. Let simmer on low while your noodles finish cooking
-drain your penne noodles and pat dry so there isn't any water left on them.
-mix penne noodles and alfredo sauces together.
-spray a 9x13 pan and pour penne noodles in first
- take browned meat mixture and pour over top of noodles
-add as much mozzarella cheese on top
- cover with foil. (Spray foil with pan spray so cheese doesn't stick)
-bake for 15 mins with foil on at 350
- remove foil and bake for 15 more mins
- pull out of oven let it sit for 5 mins and serve

Yum yum

Tuesday Tipz

Use foam type pencil helpers
on large size crochet hooks to make the
hook 'friendlier' to fingers and hands.
I found a pack of 10 at the Dollar Tree in
the school supply aisle. Most big box stores
have these.

Just place a pencil foam tube on the
hook where it is held. This will cushion
the hook.
