Mrs. Cheap!

A Nashville newspaper has had a column for over 20 years
called Mrs. Cheap.
She writes about how to save money
and live frugally, not 'cheaply'.
She has great ideas about free and inexpensive activities.

check out her website, she is also on FB.

Tuesday Tipz

Some coloring page designs can be overwhelmingly intricate.
Even though a pack of 120 colors is totally amazing,
too many choices can be paralyzing as well.
Start by using just 10-12 basic colors.
Color in the key areas,
then later use the secondary colors to fill in details.
As the page comes to life, creative juices will flow!

Here is a  delicious recipe from my S-I-L Kathy.

Stuffed Chicken Shells

1 onion, chopped
4 Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into small pieces
2 (6ox) boxes of Stove Top stuffing, any flavor
1 cup mayo

Cook shells according to package directions, set aside.

Heat oil, add onion cook 2 to 3 minutes. Add chicken and stir fry until cooked through. Remove from heat.

Prepare stuffing according to package directions.

In large bowl, mix prepared stuffing with chicken. Stir in mayonnaise.

Generously fill pasta shells with the stuffing/chicken mixture.

In bowl, combine soup with 2 soup cans of water.

Pour this mixture over the shells.

Cover pans with foil and bake for 45 minutes until heated through

Tuesday Tipz

Since I'm behind on posting here are two tipz for today!
The first one is a storage tip from a loyal reader:

"Your idea for a yarn colander to hold separate strings got me to thinking about potato chips.  I eat the Stackers brand which come in a solid plastic tube about a foot long. I use leftover tubes to hold various stuff; they are especially good for protecting expensive paint brushes.

So I don't know if this would work, but maybe if you drilled a hole in the bottom of the tube to run your yarn through, then you could stuff the ball or clump of the rest of the yarn in the tube as storage. Then you can duct tape several tubes together and build an entire wall of yarn storage with dangling threads."

The second  is a Colorist tipz:

As you color your page, set the coloring utensils aside. Bind with a rubber band or keep in a small pencil box/tote. The next time you pick up your coloring, you won't have to try to remember which
colors you were using. I find there is always a small area to fill in that I missed, and I don't always remember the exact color I used.

Monday Make Itz

Here is a cute little craft made with the Saf-T-Pop lollipops,
the ones that have the bent paper handles.
These can be found at Walmart, Walmart online and Amazon.
They are sold in bulk if you need to make a number of them.
It takes two for each bunny.
I will probably use glue dots instead of a glue gun for the bunny tail.
I may also add goggle eyes to the front.

Friday Freebeez

Greetingz Crafterz!

Thank you for being patient. I have not posted this week due to
my 91.5 year old mom having some health challenges.
We were in the ER twice! Her issues have stabilized for now.
Color It has given us another fun download from one of their upcoming books.
I highly recommend ordering a pack of their art quality paper to print these freebies on.
If you do not have any of this paper, be sure to use a high quality card stock.
Stampin'Up has great paper called Whisper White that would also work well.
Click on the link below for the fun download.
