FLOWER PEN BOUQUET

Here is 'an oldie but a goodie.'
Attach silk flowers to a pen to make a practical and pretty bouquet!
There will always be a pen handy!
Some businesses make these so their pens don't ''walk away'!

Materials:
Dollar store Silk Roses, usually at least 6 flowers on each stems
Stick pens (can get for practically free with coupons and tax free weekend, or pick up at $ store)
Washi tape--look in your papercrafting stash. (This is updated from when floral tape was used.)
Wire cutters and scissors.

Gather materials.

Use pen as a measure to snip off stem. Be sure to make it short enough to use the cap.

Place flower beyond the top of the pen, using the washi tape, attach the rose to the pen with going around both. Start at the top and go down. Secure tape as go down.

Go back and make sure the tape is firmly in place.

Add the cap if desired.  Place all together in a vase or pretty container.

Tuesday Tipz

Coloring Comfort Zone

Don't hesitate to try new coloring techniques,
especially if books are on sale or clearance.

I picked up color by number
and a grayscale coloring books just to try.
I like the color by number when I don't
feel like planning the colors, but I still want to color.
The jury is still out on grayscale.
I'm trying different coloring products
and techniques--perhaps I will find one I like.
If I don't;however, it was fun trying something new.

Don't forget to look through the back to school aisle
for great bargains on coloring supplies.
Tennessee has a tax weekend starting this Friday-
that is like a 10% discount.

recently held a cultural arts fair.
I entered three projects:

Coloring Tote made with recycled materials

First Place (blue ribbon) for the crochet!
Second Place(red ribbon) for the decoration!
Did not place for the tote, but received many compliments
from other entrants.

The first and second placed projects will move onto Regionals in September.
I may also enter these into the local county fair.
It was fun to see all the projects from members across the county.

Thursday Treatz

Pepperoni Rolls

Credit goes to my sister in law Steph who is an AMAZING cook!
I did have to tweek her recipe a bit since I do not own a bread maker.

-frozen bread dough type rolls (such as Rhodes Brand)
-Pepperoni Slices
-different types of cubed or chunk cheeses slices
-Velveeta type cheese
-Pizza sauce for dipping ( Contadina brand squirt bottle works great)

1. Decide how many rolls to make, then take that many frozen rolls out to defrost.
(Place them on parchment or non stick foil to thaw out.)
2. When pliable, flatten to a 3 inch circle.
3. Make about a one inch stack of cheese and pepperoni slices as follow: 2 slices pepperoni, chunk of velveeta,  the other cheeses, then 2 slices of pepperoni. (Kind of making a pepperoni sandwich)
4. Place this on the flattened bread dough. Bring the dough up around the goodies, pinch to seal.
Put seam on side. Place on sprayed pan, or use the parchment paper or non stick foil.
5. Let rise till doubled.
6. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown usually 12-15 minutes.
7. Can brush melted butter over top.
8. Dip in pizza sauce, ranch dressing or eat as is!

CROCK POT CORN ON THE COB

(I have not tried this yet, but have baked corn on the cob.)

There are a few different ways to crockpot corn.
1.Wrap in foil.
2. Put cleaned corn in crock with about 1/3 cup water.

I would probably try the foiled corn first since
I could put butter on the corn before wrapping.
Another yummy way to fix it is to spread mayo and
sprinkle Parmesan cheese before wrapping.

Cook on high for 2-3 hours.
On low for 4.
