Friday Freebeez and Recipe update

check your favorite online stores to see if it is offering
free shipping.

Cheesecake Bar update:

A loyal reader asked if chocolate could be added to this recipe.
I think chocolate chips could be added to the cream cheese filling,
and chocolate glaze could be used on top.

Thursday Treatz

(from a fellow FCE club member)

(These are super easy and super YUMMY!)

2 tubes of any brand of CRESCENT rolls (I got the lowfat and it worked just fine)

2 8oz. bricks of cream cheese, softened

3/4 cup sugar

Icing-I used a can of pre-made cream cheese frosting or can make your own glaze

1. Pat one tube of crescent rolls in the bottom of a baking pan, no real need to butter
or grease pan, but parchment paper could be used.

2. Mix sugar and cream cheese till creamy

3. Spread cream cheese mixture on top of patted out rolls.

4. Put the other tube of rolls on top of this.

5. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes, I checked mine at about 20 minutes, needs to be golden brown

6. Take out, while still warm, spread either pre-made frosting all over and let it melt or
use the following glaze recipe: 1 cup powered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and enough milk
    to make a glaze.

Let cool, cut into small bars since this is a very rich dessert.
This would also be good with strawberries, blueberries or other fruit on top.

Keep in refrigerator.

Tuesday Tipz

I read this great tip, I plan to start using it!

Don't remember if you turned off an appliance
or closed the garage door after you have left the house?
If your phone takes pictures, snap one of whatever it is
you always worry about.
Just the act of taking the picture, along with
having a reference after you leave will be a good way
to remember--"Did I turn off the coffee pot?"

Craftin With Suz has a new address.
Please begin using now:

Christmas Cookie Recipe Boo

A few years ago mom and I decided to gather her cookie recipes
that were scattered about in different places.
The plan was to make a book of her favorite cookies that family
enjoyed through the years.
While we started on this project, it had to be put aside due to
unforeseen circumstances, mainly her health.

Mom died Sept. 17,2017, after a blessed long life of 92 years.
I decided it was time to finish this project to share with all.

Remember the post about the purple binders I found on sale?
That was part of this project, but I couldn't share the secret at that time.

I also found a stash of Christmas printer paper that dad used
for his Holiday Newsletters. I used this stash to copy the recipes.

I made copies of her recipes, many in her own handwriting,
then put each in a page protector.
I had ten recipes that mom had picked out. If a favorite wasn't included,
I would do my best to find it if requested.
I placed all the recipes in the binders.

While this project took many hours and much effort,
I hope that it will become a cherished memory book.

Consider making a recipe memory book.

Tuesday Tipz

I have been experimenting with the casserole crock pot.
I decided to try a batch of Chex Snack Mix.
With a few adjustments to the recipe, it worked great!

1, Place a full stick of butter/margarine in the crock. Turn on to high to melt.
2. Add either a seasoning packet or use the recipe on the cereal boxes.
3. Add cereal, nuts, etc.
4. Mix well.
5 PLACE PAPER TOWELS over mixture before covering to soak up the moisture.
6. Leave on high for awhile, stir.
7. Continue to stir and check for about 2 hours, making sure it doesn't stick or burn.
If gets too warm, turn to low.
8. Take lid and paper towels off, turn to low, let finish crisping up for about half an hour.
9. Let cool, place in container.
