Monday Make Itz

It seems that Mother Nature has mixed up the seasons.
Hopes of  moving rocks has
been put on hold until warmer weather--
very windy and cold today.

Here are a few pictures to share,
along with an awesome story that
goes along with the concrete block.

Rocks and landscape fabric removed. This will be put back into grass.

A corner finished. Rocks replaced. Plants that will spread have been planted in the areas between the rocks.

The story behind the blocks:

Concrete Block made at Architecture Camp.

When my youngest was in Middle School, he applied for and was awarded a scholarship
to Architecture camp at a nearby university.
One of the camp projects was to work with concrete by designing and making a block.
He attended this camp 4 years, but sadly only 3 blocks made it home.
His last camp, the southern part of the state was hit by an unbelievable storm
so he and his sister rushed home to help with the clean up.
In doing so, the last block was not able to be retrieved.

Youngest went on to attend this college for undergrad and graduate work.
While attending classes and after graduations,
he worked at this college while taking the series of
tests to become a licensed architect with his own seal.
Needless to say, this is quite an accomplishment.

The 3 concrete blocks will have a place of honor in this Proud Mom's
new garden.
