Most of Tennessee has what is a called a balanced school year.
The students get two months off in the summer, along with breaks
through out the year--almost like a college schedule.
To celebrate the kids going back to school this week--

Alphabet Pencil Jar
The beginning of a new school year is a busy and exciting time! Create this adorable Alphabet Pencil Jar for your child's new teacher. Using one of Dollar Tree’s glass jars filled with puzzle-piece letters and freshly sharpened pencils, this gift will make for a cute and functional desk display.
Shop at Dollar Tree – Here's What You'll Need:
- Glass Jar
- Pack of Pencils
- Alphabet Magnets
- Ribbon or Twine
Easy Step-by-Step Directions:
- Gather your supplies and then remove the foam letter pieces from the puzzle outline (see images below).
- Place the pencils with the lead end facing down inside the glass jar.
- Fill in the area between the pencils and the glass with the individual foam letters. Pack them tightly, but with enough room to still be able to remove pencils.
- Secure decorative ribbon or twine to the rim of the jar with an encouraging message for the new school year and watch a teacher's face light up after receiving this adorable gift!
